Who we are: GovernAble Pty Ltd (ABN 72 690 471 651) (“GovernAble”, “we”, “us”).
We are committed to the open and transparent management of personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains what we collect, how we use and disclose it, how we protect it, and your rights.
1. What we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Identity & contact: name, work email, phone, company, role, state/country.
- Website & device: IP address, browser type/version, pages viewed, timestamps, referring URL, and cookies or similar technologies.
- Form content: details you enter into “Contact Us”, demo requests or downloads.
- Service communications: emails, meeting notes, support requests.
Note: An IP address can be personal information where an individual is reasonably identifiable; we handle it accordingly.
2. How we collect it
- Directly from you (forms, email, phone, events).
- Automatically from your device when you visit our site (via our hosting provider and any analytics we use).
- From third parties where you’ve made information public (e.g., LinkedIn) or given consent (e.g., a referral).
At or before collection we take reasonable steps to notify you of key matters (see “Collection notice” below).
3. Why we collect it (purposes)
- Respond to enquiries and provide requested information or demos.
- Operate, secure and improve our website and services.
- Analytics and performance (understanding usage to improve content).
- Marketing communications where permitted (you can opt out anytime).
Comply with law and manage risk (fraud/security monitoring).
4. Cookies & analytics
We may use cookies and similar tools to keep the site secure and understand usage. You can control cookies in your browser. If we use third-party analytics (e.g., Google Analytics), some data may be processed outside Australia (see “Overseas disclosures”).
5. Disclosing your information (including overseas)
We may disclose personal information to:
- Service providers who help us host, secure and operate our website and tools (e.g., cloud hosting, email, analytics, ticketing),
- Professional advisers (legal/accounting), and
- Where required by law or to protect safety, security, or our rights.

Our website is hosted by a provider with data centres in the United States (Arizona). Accordingly, website traffic and form submissions may be stored and processed in the United States. We take reasonable steps (contractual and technical) to ensure overseas recipients handle personal information in accordance with the APPs; however, if an overseas recipient mishandles information, we may remain accountable under the Privacy Act.
Other service providers we use may also process data outside Australia. Where practicable, we list the countries involved here: United States (hosting; email/analytics may also be US-hosted). We will update this list if it changes.
6. Direct marketing
We may send you updates about our services if you’ve given us your details or would reasonably expect them. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in our emails or by contacting us.
7. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure (e.g., access controls, encryption in transit, role-based access, staff confidentiality).
8. Retention & destruction
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, and then take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
9. Access & correction
You can request access to or correction of the personal information we hold about you. We’ll respond within a reasonable time. If we refuse access or correction (rare), we’ll tell you why and how to complain. (APP 12–13).
10. Your choices
You can:
- Use a pseudonym where feasible.
- Opt out of marketing.
- Disable non-essential cookies in your browser.
Choose not to provide optional details (we’ll tell you if a field is required).
11. Complaints
If you think we’ve mishandled your personal information, please contact us first (details below). We’ll respond within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC). See the OAIC website for how to complain.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will be posted on our website.

Who collects your information: GovernAble Pty Ltd (ABN 72 690 471 651).
What we collect: name, work email, phone, company, role, and the content of your message. Our host also logs technical details such as IP address and browser metadata for security and performance. (An IP address may be personal information when reasonably identifiable.)
Why we collect it: to respond to your enquiry, provide materials you request, improve our services, and (if you opt in) send updates.
Overseas storage: our website is hosted in the United States (Arizona); your personal information (including IP address) may be stored/processed there. We take reasonable steps to ensure recipients handle it consistently with the APPs.
Who we share with: our hosting, email and analytics service providers, and as required by law.
Required/optional: fields marked required are needed to respond; others are optional.
Access, correction & complaints: you can request access or correction, and make a complaint to us. If you’re not satisfied, you can complain to the OAIC.
